Asian Date -- Japanese Date -- Dating Oriental

An American seeking an Asian Date found me on the Internet in October of 1998. He started out with an Asia dating website and ended up using the "old" hotmail classified that no longer exist. Back then many Asian American girls who had moved to the United States years before with their families became well known on the dating scene. But there was a problem. They had mostly become "Americanized" and American men did not want them as an Asian date or as Asian wives.

We did not want to learn a whole new language and we had heard bad things about them. I am Filipino and my country had been invaded by the Japanese during the second world war. My dad fought against them and many of his friends were killed by them.

Women in Asia are not all alike and Asian men are not all alike either. Dating Asians by Asians is sometimes a balancing act when it comes to traditions and culture. Like I said I am Filipino and I speak English as well as Tagalog. I wanted to meet an American man because I had many good things about them from my father and on television.

Bob came many times to meet me and my family before we were married. Then we married in Oct 1999 in the United States after I went through the immigration process. I did not have a traditional Asian wedding of my dreams but I would never go back in time or change a thing that has happened to me since 1998. 

It was the best thing to happen in my life then and many more since then. The important thing to know is that an Asian girl found her date on the Internet in 1998 too using simple "hotmail Classified". Many women from Asia back then used that free service for dating and I wish it were still working. It was really good.
