The internet reveals a strange thing when it comes to oriental men. Apparently their demand is negligible when compared to that of oriental women on interracial dating websites. Where most interracial Asian dating websites feature Asian girls excessively Asian men seem to be completely missing. Most of the matchmaking websites are filled with profiles of Asian girls but one hardly ever sees oriental men.

And this rule seems to apply to nearly every country in Asia. Though there is a constant complaint among Asian women about the lack of good suitors it also remains true that these women will not look outside their culture when seeking a husband.

This makes it even more surprising as to why there are so few websites featuring oriental men because the demand seems to be quite high. You seem to run into more Japanese men than most others. Japanese men seem to have more money and can afford to be seen makes a big difference too.

One possible explanation may be that the modern Asian woman who has become independent may fear that men from the orient might be a little too old fashioned to keep up with them.

Asian men have also been badly stereotyped in the west because of how they are portrayed in popular culture and this may also lead to the problem of a hidden demand. While it is true that other cultures, particularly African Americans, have been equally stereotyped through American television that did not stop the several interracial dating websites from succeeding. Caucasian men and women both use these websites extensively seeking partners of color.

One plausible explanation might be that whereas the Asians got stereotyped as weak and sickly the African Americans were portrayed as dangerous and tough, which might add to their sex appeal. Compared to that tough as nails image the short and off white colored Asian doing sums with an abacus instead of a calculator is not quite appealing.

 
Gay dating is another place where the Asian Male gets stereotyped as gay because of their slim and hairless appearance. This is of course completely untrue and also unjust to most of the Asian male population but nevertheless it happens.

It may also be that because of long standing traditions oriental men face pressure from their families when it comes to choosing a partner and they have to stick to Asian girls. Traditional pressure can be quite inescapable. Perhaps this is the reason why Asian dating sites feature both genders almost equally whereas interracial dating websites are lacking in the number of Asian men that have their profile listed there.
